  3. With a sound incorporating elements of crust punk, noise rock, doom, and sludge metal, Baptists create an eclectic blend bound together by one common thread: absolutely crushing the listener. On Bloodmines, Baptists ' second full-length outing, the Canadian quartet delivers an album of anguished aggression that feels masterfully focused despite drawing from so many influences.
  4. Oct 14,  · Baptists take from the school of Converge including the sour tri-tone guitar chords and dancy D beat style drums but can carry their own energy and still stand out on their own. Must have for eaters at the Death Wish table. The contagious energy of this album will rank it high on my top 10 albums of the year/5(3).

  8. Oct 14,  · Bloodmines is quite similar in its character to their debut and it retains the same sense of deadliness and destruction. The style that Baptists embrace doesn’t leave a lot of room for variations, so it’s completely OK for their new album to sound almost like a B-side to their first LP.
  9. Crusty hardcore kids Baptists are back with a record of chaotic punk rock that tries to throw in as many riffs and rasped vocals as possible. 'Bloodmines', their second record, does a good job of using melody to clear out the clutter, continuing to show off the band's subtle post-hardcore and noise rock influences. Vinyl LP £ LORDLP.
